Yes, you read right! ONO can print the almost full height of the build volume in less than 3 hours and there’s a video to see it at work.
ONO and OLO seem to be just the same item but advertised with different names. Invented by the co-founders of the italian firm Solido3D, Filippo Moroni and Pietro Gabriele, this little 3d printer will surely boost interest on 3D Printing around the world.
For months, the ONO team has been working on compatibility issues between the printer and the hundreds of phones currently available on the market delaying shipments. From the start of the project, the decision was made to use the audio output to communicate with the printer to maximize the compatibility with phones, especially older ones, since a hardware connection through the audio jack is more reliable than wireless communication. What the team was not prepared for was the variation not only between phones, but between software versions on the same phone. Fixing problems on one system resulted in a degradation in another, causing a crippling problem.
On Tuesday, April 4, 2018, the ONO Team finally received the long-awaited UL certification for the latest redesign of the electronics board. Several months ago, an issue was found with the compatibility of the printer with some phones on the market. This prompted the team to go back to the drawing board and redesign the electronics to solve this problem, not only for the phones on the market today, but guard against the newer phones also being incompatible.
The decision to invest in robots to replace workers is not merely a technological shift but a complex interplay of economic, strategic, and societal factors. As we delve into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, we encounter a landscape that promises increased efficiency and safety but also raises concerns about job displacement, ethical considerations, and the broader impact on our society and economy.
We are currently in the midst of an extraordinary revolution that is reshaping both manufacturing and service industries. The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics are catalyzing transformative changes, fostering a paradigm shift in the way we produce goods and deliver services.
This unprecedented era of technological innovation is not only redefining traditional processes but also opening new frontiers of efficiency, precision, and capability. From automated production lines to intelligent service delivery, the landscape of industries is undergoing a profound and unprecedented transformation, heralding a future where the integration of AI and robotics plays a central role in shaping the way we work and live.
Once in a great while, a technology emerges that has the potential to revolutionize the world as we know it. Even less frequent is the opportunity for the general public to invest in such a technology. The advent of 3D printing brings with it an opportunity to invest in an advancement that is as monumental as the cotton gin and the Internet.
