CNC is an acronym for "Computer Numerical Control" or "Computerized Numerical Control". The word originaded by the acronym NC that means Numerical Control.  In modern English cnc has also acquired other meanings that are not related to this topic and that we will not explain in this article.

Unlike fused deposition 3d printing technologies (FFF, FFD,FDM) where 3d printed items are made using thermal plastics in form of pellets of filaments extruded trough one or more hot nozzles, resin 3d printers (SLA, DLP, LED/LCD, LFS) use light-reactive thermoset liquid materials called “resins” to create the 3d printed layers.

Well, a clear answer is not easy to find out there, as companies that profit from this segment of the market tend to give vague explanations about their products in order to not alarm the world too much and keep you using and buying their technology. Even if some process or material could be really effective to produce certain objects we should keep in mind that not all technologies are good for our planet. It should not be hard to determine when a technology becomes inconvenient, I believed this is when it is used to produce things that can be made in a sustainable way.
